UDS-AT Pro basic device incl. GNSS module and activation (CAN vehicle-specific)

The UDS-AT Pro is an advanced accident data recorder (“black box”) for vehicles. It records important data during accidents or unusual driving situations – for example:

• Accelerations and rotational movements (3D sensor technology)
• Vehicle signals such as speed, brake, lights, turn signals, etc.
• Optionally additionally recordable CAN signals

Such data can later be used for accident reconstruction, analysis of driving behavior, clarification of damages, or even as legally admissible evidence.

The UDS-AT Pro is particularly used for:

• Reconstruction of accidents and events
• Fleet management & driving behavior analysis
• Insurance and legal evaluation
• Objective data collection in traffic incidents

Purpose of the GNSS connection in UDS-AT Pro

Supplementing the recordings with satellite-based position data
When the UDS-AT Pro is equipped with a GNSS variant, it records in addition to the internal sensor and vehicle data protocol also position data (GPS coordinates). This satellite-based data indicates:

-          Where the vehicle was at the respective time (longitude and latitude)

-          Temporally synchronized position trajectories over the driving or accident period

-          Possible direction of movement and location of the event

This makes the accident reconstruction or analysis of extraordinary events more precise and meaningful, as it contains not only acceleration, inclination, brake or signal states but also exact location information.

Technical background (UDS)

The name UDS stands for Unified Diagnostic Services, an international diagnostic communication standard in the vehicle sector (ISO 14229), which is typically used via CAN bus.
